Leeds Rhinos delivered a statement victory, moving clear at the top of Super League with a comprehensive 34-6 win over Warrington Wolves. The Rhinos ran in six tries in a dominant display that underlined their title credentials.
First Half Dominance
Leading 16-2 at half-time thanks to tries from Maika Sivo, Brodie Croft and Harry Newman, Leeds quickly extinguished any prospect of a Warrington comeback after the break. Jake Connor and Lachie Miller were instrumental in all three first-half scores.
Second Half Masterclass
Miller's stunning pass for Chris Hankinson three minutes into the second half put the Rhinos in complete control. Connor then stepped up with two wonderful assists for Sivo to complete his hat-trick. Sivo now has 25 tries in 15 games this season, with Denny Solomona's all-time record of 40 in a single season now within reach for the Fijian winger.
Warrington's Chastening Night
For Warrington, it was a tough night. Sam Burgess's side have responded well after a difficult 2025, but this defeat showed the work still to be done. Matty Ashton's late try at least ensured the Wolves avoided failing to score at home.
“Parts of that were tough to watch,” Burgess said. “Other than that, parts of our game were okay but we missed some big moments which we have usually been pretty good at, and in the second half they were just a far greater side.”
Leeds' Title Credentials
Leeds coach Brad Arthur, who arrived on a short-term deal two summers ago and has since signed until the end of 2028, said: “It was pretty good. There’s still a few things we’ve got to work on but I thought we were physically dominant and our resilience was excellent.”
The Rhinos now sit two points clear of Warrington at the summit. With reigning champions Hull KR visiting Headingley next weekend, Leeds have another opportunity to stamp down their title credentials.
