Grace Hayden Set to Join Fox Sports NRL Coverage as Presenter
Grace Hayden to Join Fox Sports NRL Coverage

Australian presenter, model and media personality Grace Hayden is eyeing up a new challenge as she takes the Aussie sports scene by storm. The 23-year-old hinted on Sunday that becoming a sideline reporter for Fox League could be on the cards in the coming weeks.

Shadowing a Pro

The daughter of Australian cricket legend Matthew Hayden was shadowing New Zealand sideline reporter Tiana Penitani-Gray during the Panthers' narrow win over the Warriors on Sunday night. Penitani-Gray has established a strong reputation at Fox League, and Hayden has her eye on joining her as part of the next generation of female rugby league reporters.

Hayden, an avid Broncos fan, could be used as a sideline reporter for Broncos home games at Suncorp moving forward. It is just the latest step for Hayden, who continues to carve out a successful path in media after her breakout role as Channel Seven's Oaks Day Ambassador in 2022.

Career Highlights

Since then, she has continued to present at various horse racing events and in cricket leagues around the world, including the BBL, IPL and the Caribbean Premier League. Hayden also hosted a live show from this year's Australian Open called Extraaa Serve, broadcast by Sony Sports Network, which holds exclusive rights to broadcast the tennis grand slam in India. Then in March she joined Fox Sports' coverage of the Shannons SpeedSeries.

And now Hayden has her heart set on working in the NRL, as she posted several teasers on Instagram on Sunday night with a Fox League mic in hand and the caption 'learning the ropes' in another picture with Penitani-Gray.

What Hayden Says

Hayden also told Code Sports that she has always been willing to try her hand at everything and would love the opportunity to join the Fox League team. "I love all sports, always have. Growing up I tried my hand at everything," Hayden told Code Sports. "My whole family loves rugby league and I'm a big Broncos fan. This time of the year, when you've got the Blues playing Queensland, it's such an exciting time. Rugby league is going from strength to strength, and it is a sport I definitely want to sink my teeth into. It would be exciting to step into this new footy challenge with Fox."
