Gerringong Junior Dylan Egan Extends Dragons Contract Through 2029

Dylan Egan, a 21-year-old Gerringong junior, has extended his contract with the St George Illawarra Dragons through the 2029 NRL season. The second-rower, who made his NRL debut in round four last year, was previously committed through 2027. Egan is recovering from an ACL injury that ended his 2025 campaign and is targeting a return in May.

Egan, along with fellow Gerringong juniors Hamish Stewart and Hayden Buchanan, carpools to training. Buchanan was recently promoted to the Dragons' NRL squad for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Egan said the trio grew up supporting the Dragons and watching games from the hill at WIN Stadium, and he is motivated to help return the club to its glory days.

Egan scored three tries in eight games in 2025 before his injury. Dragons head coach Shane Flanagan praised Egan's character and work ethic, stating the extension is well-earned. Egan said securing his future with the club he grew up supporting means the world to him.
