Man charged after teen bitten in Sydney soccer brawl

A 47-year-old man has been charged following a violent brawl at a junior soccer match in southwest Sydney, during which an 18-year-old was allegedly bitten in the back.

Police were called to a park on Iluka Street in Revesby around 3.30pm on Saturday after reports of a fight between players and spectators at an under-17 boys' soccer match.

According to authorities, the altercation escalated when onlookers rushed onto the field.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 18-year-old at the scene before transporting him to Liverpool Hospital, where he received further treatment for injuries, including a bite wound to his back.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 47-year-old man from Greenacre. He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The man has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing. In a statement, NSW Police said: 'Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were informed that a number of spectators had entered the field of play after a fight broke out between players.'
