The 2025/26 Ashes series featured 31 players across five Tests, with performances ranging from series-defining to forgettable. Australia retained the urn, but individual displays varied widely.
Jofra Archer's tour was a mixed bag. He bowled incisive spells, including 5-53 in Adelaide, but a side strain ended his series early. He took just two wickets in Perth but was economical, conceding 11 runs in eight overs. Steve Smith hitting the winning runs off him at the Gabba was a lasting image.
Gus Atkinson struggled to make an impact, taking six wickets from 73 overs across six innings. He was ineffective aside from a few economical spells in Perth and Melbourne before missing the SCG Test with a hamstring injury.
Sam Konstas, selected for the final two Tests after the series was decided, impressed with a composed 154 at the SCG and a top-score of 40 in Melbourne's run chase. His maiden first-class century came under the Ashes spotlight.
Scott Boland, playing five straight home Tests for the first time, was arguably Australia's best bowler in the second half of the series. Despite no five-wicket hauls, his relentless accuracy changed games. He also contributed with the bat, including an unbeaten 21 off 72 balls at the Gabba.
Harry Brook scored the second-most runs in the series but was marked down due to high expectations. He made 52 in the first innings but otherwise squandered starts, with his highest score of 84 coming in the final Test. He also dropped costly catches in Adelaide.
Alex Carey impressed with his glovework, taking clean catches and changing games behind the stumps. His performance was widely praised by viewers.
