Swiatek and Rybakina Cruise into Third Round

World number one Iga Swiatek continued her dominant run at Wimbledon 2026, defeating qualifier Katie Swan 6-1, 6-2 in just 58 minutes on Centre Court. Swiatek, a four-time Grand Slam champion, broke Swan's serve five times and saved the only break point she faced. The Polish star has now won 14 consecutive matches on grass, dating back to her run to the semifinals last year.

Elena Rybakina, the 2022 champion, also advanced with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over American Madison Keys. Rybakina fired eight aces and won 82% of her first-serve points. The Kazakhstani player is aiming to become the first multiple women's champion at Wimbledon since Serena Williams in 2016.

Zverev and Fritz Lead Men's Charge

Alexander Zverev, the German fourth seed, overcame a spirited challenge from Australian Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3. Zverev hit 22 aces and saved three set points in the third set tiebreak before sealing the win in three hours and 12 minutes. He will next face British wildcard Jack Draper.

Taylor Fritz, the American eighth seed, dispatched Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-5, 6-2. Fritz broke Mannarino's serve four times and committed only 12 unforced errors. The 2025 Australian Open quarterfinalist is looking to reach the second week at Wimbledon for the first time since 2022.

Other Notable Results

On the women's side, former world number one Karolina Pliskova lost to 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu 7-6(5), 6-4 in a match that featured 15 breaks of serve. Raducanu, now ranked 67th, will face Swiatek in the third round.

In men's action, 2024 runner-up Nick Kyrgios withdrew due to a wrist injury, giving a walkover to Italian Lorenzo Sonego. Kyrgios had been struggling with the injury since his first-round win.

According to tournament officials, total attendance on day four reached 42,318, the highest for a Thursday in Wimbledon history. The All England Club reported record sales of strawberries and cream, with 28,000 portions sold.
