Smart Hotel Opens In London's Historic Converted Warehouse

The Sir Devonshire Square Hotel has opened in a converted Georgian warehouse in London's historic City district. The hotel, which launched in September 2025, is located at Devonshire Square, a mixed-use development that once stored goods for the East India Company.

Part of the Amsterdam-based Sircle Collection and a member of Design Hotels by Marriott, the property features 81 rooms and suites. The design, by Samuel Wright's London and Cornwall-based studio, blends contemporary style with retro influences from the 1960s and 1970s.

Room categories range from the 17sqm-19sqm Sir Petit to the 63sqm Sir Devonshire Suite. All rooms include espresso machines, tea facilities, large TVs with streaming, work desks, and marble bathrooms with Zenology amenities.

Public spaces include a lobby-side bar and lounge with wood, glazed tiling, leather sofas, and artwork by London artists. The lounge serves morning coffee, pastries, and cooked-to-order dishes, while an adjoining events space offers an outdoor terrace.

The hotel occupies a building constructed in 1768, part of a cluster of heritage-listed structures that once held spices, teas, silks, and textiles for the East India Company. The City of London, known as The Square Mile, remains a major global finance and tech centre.
