Model Jesinta Franklin is preparing to welcome her third child with AFL legend Lance “Buddy” Franklin, but behind the excitement, she’s facing an unexpected wave of grief about what motherhood will look like next.
Already parents to Tallulah, five, and Rocky, four, the influencer and entrepreneur admitted she fears losing precious one-on-one time with her two eldest when the newborn arrives. Speaking to Stellar on Sunday, Jesinta said, “For me there is so much excitement and happiness around welcoming a new baby, but there is also this feeling — I don’t know if it’s something that just a mother has... But also kind of grieving the time that I’m gonna have with just Tallulah and Rocky.”
She recalled having the same feeling when welcoming Rocky, thinking about whether she had spent enough time with Tallulah and whether her heart would expand in the same way. Despite these emotions, Jesinta noted that falling pregnant with number three unexpectedly is a true blessing, especially after struggling to conceive her first two children.
Jesinta and Lance moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast three years ago and are now relocating to a more remote property. Visiting Lance’s childhood home in rural Western Australia early in her pregnancy reminded them of the upbringing they want for their children. The couple have also started a new business venture as co-owners of Honey For Life, a raw, organic Manuka honey brand, and plan to raise animals and grow produce on their new property.
Lance, who announced his retirement in 2023, confirmed on Channel 7’s Sunrise in July that the baby is due late December or early January. He said, “It’s juggling being a father and making time to get out and be active and run around, it’s that juggling act, but absolutely loving it.”
