Jesinta Franklin's Bittersweet Excitement for Third Child

Australian model and influencer Jesinta Franklin is preparing to welcome her third child with AFL legend Lance 'Buddy' Franklin in a story that beautifully captures the complex emotions of expanding a family. While overjoyed about the new addition, Jesinta is experiencing unexpected feelings of grief about how her relationship with her two eldest children will change.

Navigating Motherhood's Mixed Emotions

Speaking candidly to Stellar magazine, the former Miss Universe Australia revealed her internal conflict between excitement and apprehension. The baby is due in late December or early January, marking what she describes as an unexpected blessing after previously struggling to conceive.

'For me there is so much excitement and happiness around welcoming a new baby, but there is also this feeling - I don't know if it's something that just a mother has,' Jesinta shared. She admitted to grieving the special one-on-one time she currently enjoys with five-year-old daughter Tallulah and four-year-old son Rocky.

This isn't the first time Jesinta has experienced these emotions. She recalled similar fears before Rocky's birth, wondering if she had spent enough quality time with Tallulah and whether her heart could expand to love another child as deeply.

Family Changes and New Beginnings

The Franklin family is undergoing significant transitions beyond the pregnancy. After moving from Sydney to the Gold Coast three years ago, they're now relocating to a more remote property where they plan to raise animals, grow produce and give their children the freedom to explore.

Jesinta explained that visiting Buddy's childhood home in rural Western Australia early in her pregnancy reinforced their vision for their children's upbringing. 'When Bud says he was born in the bush, he was literally born in the bush... big beautiful ghost gums, red-earth roads - it's stunning,' she described.

The couple has also embarked on a new business venture as co-owners of Honey For Life, a raw, organic Manuka honey brand. Meanwhile, Lance, who retired from professional AFL in 2023, recently appeared on Channel 7's Sunrise after completing a half marathon, demonstrating the active lifestyle he maintains alongside fatherhood.

'The third's on its way, will be born late December, early January, which is really exciting,' Lance confirmed during his television appearance. 'We're going to be busy. It's juggling being a father and making time to get out and be active and run around, it's that juggling act, but absolutely loving it.'

Despite the normal anxieties that accompany family growth, Jesinta emphasized her profound gratitude for this pregnancy and the exciting new chapter ahead for the Franklin family.
