Aussie Mum's Forbes-Approved Weighted Blanket Wins Over Parents

An Australian mother's invention, the Woven Woven weighted blanket, has been named one of Forbes' 'best things of 2025' and is earning rave reviews from parents. The blanket, designed by a mum named Joey, was born out of her desire to help her newborn sleep better.

Joey created the blanket after finding that her grandmother's 40-year-old, 2kg cotton-filled blanket worked wonders for her daughter. Unlike modern weighted blankets filled with beads, Joey's design uses 100% natural cotton fibre and Australian ultra-fine merino wool, making it bead-free and breathable.

The Woven Woven blankets are made from certified organic cotton and are hypo-allergenic, gentle on young skin, machine-washable, and durable. They come in weights from 1.5kg to 2.2kg and are available for different age groups, from babies to older children.

According to the brand, the ideal weight for a weighted blanket is about 10% of the user's body weight, and parents should ensure children can comfortably lift the blanket. The blankets have received five-star ratings from shoppers.

Woven Woven is currently offering a 5% site-wide discount as part of a Black Friday sale, applied at checkout.
