A woman has died and two others are seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash on the NSW Central Coast. The incident occurred on Budgewoi Road, Budgewoi just after 11am on Wednesday, involving a Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Corolla.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive a female passenger of the Toyota, but she could not be saved and died at the scene. The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be in her 80s.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 43-year-old woman, and the 62-year-old female driver of the Toyota were taken to John Hunter Hospital, both in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established as police investigate the circumstances of the crash. The road was closed in both directions between Ourringo Street and Elizabeth Drive for some time but has since reopened.
