CCTV footage has captured the moment a police vehicle crashed into a family home in Western Sydney for the second time in two years. The incident occurred in Merrylands, where the car was seen speeding across the street, zooming over a speed bump, and ploughing into the house.
The vehicle made heavy impact with the garage, causing it to partially collapse. Smoke billowed from the front of the car as its headlights remained flashing. Police reported that the vehicle was responding to an urgent job but was not involved in a pursuit.
No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported. However, due to the damage, the residents of the home were forced to stay elsewhere for the night. This follows an incident in 2024 where a police car crashed into the property’s front fence, causing much lighter damage.
