Monday morning commuters in Perth are experiencing significant delays after a series of crashes and breakdowns on major roads. Authorities have responded to a crash on Stock Road near the Winterfold Road intersection, which has shut multiple lanes heading northbound. Heavy traffic is reported in the Hamilton Hill region, and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and drive with caution.
On the Kwinana Freeway, a breakdown near Manning Road is causing delays for northbound traffic. Emergency services have closed the left lane to attend to the incident, and Main Roads reports congestion backed up past the South Street off-ramps.
Incident Response teams have also dealt with a truck breakdown on Reid Highway westbound before the Mitchell Freeway off-ramp. The vehicle was stuck in the left lane for over 30 minutes and has since been towed, but traffic remains heavy on approach. Main Roads warns drivers to remain cautious and allow for safe merging.
The incidents follow a weekend of wet weather, which has created unsafe road conditions across the state. Main Roads advises drivers to exercise caution in the rain and ensure they follow safe driving practices.
