Green has emerged as the top home decor colour for 2026, with furniture retailer Temple & Webster reporting a 75% year-on-year increase in sales of green items. The trend is strongest in the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Western Australia.
According to Lucy Sutherland, Temple & Webster's Director of Insights and Trends, 78% of shoppers say they love green. She notes that while the shade is often associated with millennials, its calming and restorative qualities appeal to all generations.
Popular green furniture pieces include the Cannes Sideboard in Olive ($899), the Lola Coffee Table in Olive ($249.99), and the Paloma Boucle Bed in Forest Green ($549). Stylist Kim Caruso recommends starting with accents like cushions or rugs before committing to larger investment pieces.
For those wanting to incorporate green into their homes, Caruso suggests pairing it with warm neutrals and textures to create a timeless look. The trend reflects values of wellness, sustainability, and balance, making it a lasting choice for interior design.
