Driver Killed in Milk Truck Crash Near Lang Lang

A driver has died after a collision with a milk truck in Victoria's southeast. The crash occurred on the South Gippsland Highway near the Bass Highway intersection at Lang Lang, just over an hour southeast of Melbourne, shortly before 1pm on Monday.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene. The milk truck driver sustained injuries and was taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.

VicTraffic reported that the South Gippsland Highway at Lang Lang is closed in both directions between the Bass Highway and Kettles Road. Motorists traveling between Caldermeade and Nyora are advised to detour through Lang Lang using Westernport Road, McDonalds Track, Heylens Road, Yannathan Road, Watts Road, and Lang Lang-Poowong Road, allowing extra travel time.
