Truck Driver Feared Dead in Fiery Crash on Glenelg Highway

A truck driver is missing and believed to have died in a fiery crash on the Glenelg Highway at Tarrington, near Hamilton in Victoria's south-west, early this morning.

The collision, which occurred just after 6:00am, involved a truck and a four-wheel drive. The truck burst into flames following the impact.

The driver of the four-wheel drive, a 26-year-old man from South Australia, was killed in the crash. His passenger, a 17-year-old boy also from South Australia, was cut from the vehicle and flown to a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries.

Police have not yet located the truck driver, but believe his remains may be in the wreckage of the burnt-out truck.

Authorities are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact Crime Stoppers.
