Crown Perth has announced that two new eateries, Side Piece Pizza and Tekka Bar, will open as part of the Urban Food District in early 2026. Both venues are Australian-firsts, bringing Las Vegas-based dining concepts to the west coast.
Side Piece Pizza will serve New York-style pizza, offering a casual dining option for late-night meals or post-gambling feeds. Tekka Bar, inspired by the Tekka Ba gambling district in Japan, will feature made-to-order hand rolls and a selection of traditional sake.
Crown Perth CEO Brian Pereira expressed excitement about introducing these international venues, noting that iconic local operators will also be announced soon. The Urban Food District is the precinct's largest investment in nearly a decade and is currently under construction, with recruitment for about 100 jobs underway.
Previously announced, Eggslut, a Los Angeles-based concept known for egg sandwiches and burgers, will also join the food hub. The district will include a wine bar, beer garden, and premium international food hall, with more venues to be announced before the launch.
Clique Hospitality Founder Andy Masi said Side Piece Pizza's arrival gives local pizza lovers a chance to enjoy authentic New York-style slices without traveling. Tekka Bar founder Oliver Wharton noted that diners can watch handrolls made to order while sipping sake, offering a taste of Japan close to home.
The Urban Food District, located near Optus Stadium and Crown Theatre, aims to become a meeting place for friends, families, and hotel guests before and after events, with DJs enhancing the atmosphere on weekends.
