Canberra Man Faces 69 Charges Including Sexual Assault and Violence

A 36-year-old Canberra man is facing nearly 70 charges after his arrest on Thursday, following allegations of sexual assault and violence against multiple women. ACT police said officers from the sexual assault and child abuse team searched his home in Bruce.

Police reported that several women contacted them in late 2025 and early 2026, accusing the man of crimes committed while he was in relationships with them. He was charged with 69 offences, including multiple counts of sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated choke and render a person insensible, and aggravated common assault.

The man appeared briefly in the ACT Magistrates Court today, where his bail application was denied. Police are urging anyone who has or knows someone affected by sexual violence to visit a police station or contact them on 131 444.
