Summer has arrived in Western Australia, and Beer Farm, one of the state's most awarded craft brewers, has launched a new summer ale to celebrate. The Metricup-based brewery has introduced the Beyond The Gates sub-range, starting with the flagship Adventure Quencher Summer Ale.
The beer is described as a crisp ale with citrus and tropical notes, a light malt backbone, and a dry finish. It is brewed with pale, wheat, and rolled oats malts, along with Galaxy, Vic Secret, and Eclipse hops, resulting in a clear, golden colour with a thick creamy head.
On the nose, floral and citrus aromas are prominent, followed by a clean, earthy flavour on the palate with a light body and lingering bitterness. The malt profile is subtle, allowing the earthy hops to deliver a crisp, dry finish.
The Beyond The Gates Summer Ale has an ABV of 4.4 per cent, making it a sessionable option for the hotter months. It is available as one of 16 beers in the Drink West Drink Best mixed cube, exclusively at Liquor Barons, showcasing the depth of WA's craft beer industry.
