Cocktail of the Week: Society Manchester's Salford Fog Recipe
Salford Fog: Society Manchester's New Cocktail

Society Manchester, a popular bar in the city's Northern Quarter, has introduced a new signature cocktail called the Salford Fog. Created by head bartender Emma Jones, the drink combines gin, blackberry liqueur, fresh lemon juice, rosemary syrup, and ginger beer, served over ice with a rosemary sprig and blackberries.

Recipe and Preparation

The Salford Fog is designed to be a refreshing summer cocktail. To make it, combine 50ml of gin, 20ml of blackberry liqueur, 25ml of fresh lemon juice, and 15ml of rosemary syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a rosemary sprig and fresh blackberries.

Inspiration Behind the Drink

Jones says the cocktail was inspired by the foggy mornings often seen in Salford, a city neighboring Manchester. The blackberry and rosemary evoke the earthy, misty atmosphere, while the ginger beer adds a spicy kick. "We wanted something that felt local but also bright and refreshing for summer," Jones told The Guardian.
