A new Australian slow fashion label, Mora Heritage, is gaining attention for its hand-block printed dresses that prioritize sustainability and timeless design. The brand focuses on creating one-of-a-kind pieces meant to last, using traditional techniques that avoid digital printing.
Each garment is hand-block printed in Jaipur, India, where motifs are carved into wooden blocks and coated with AZO-free dyes before being pressed onto fabric. Production is small and deliberate, ensuring every piece feels unique rather than mass-produced.
The label aims to solve the 'nothing to wear' dilemma by offering versatile silhouettes in vibrant colors and prints. Highlights include the Bowral Dress in Rose Garden ($319) and the Balmoral Dress in Chocolate Blossom ($319), both suited for autumn.
Mora Heritage was born in Sydney and operates in contrast to the fast fashion industry, which produces over 100 billion garments annually and generates 92 million tonnes of textile waste. The brand emphasizes craft, individuality, and longevity over speed and volume.
Shoppers have praised the designs on Instagram, calling them 'simply stunning.' The label is currently running a launch giveaway for a $1,500 wardrobe.
