Fremantle Markets to Host Spring Fashion Showcase for Emerging Designers

The Fremantle Markets will hold its first large-scale fashion event this Saturday, November 15, featuring a runway show in Henderson Mall from 2pm. The free event, Fremantle Spring Fashion, will spotlight original creations by both emerging and established local designers.

Event producer Tricia Ray said the showcase aims to support up-and-coming talent. “Fremantle is the perfect setting for this kind of event: it’s creative, it’s community driven and it’s full of character,” she said. “We’re so thrilled to be giving this cohort of up-and-coming designers a platform to showcase their work in such an iconic location.”

One designer will be selected for a mentorship opportunity with Collab. Australian by Design, a Fremantle Markets retailer focused on ethical craftsmanship and locally designed fashion. The mentorship will cover both fashion and business development.

Fremantle Markets CEO Natasha Atkinson said the mentorship reflects the Markets’ commitment to local enterprise. “This event is not only a celebration of creativity and community, but a chance to foster real career pathways for emerging designers,” she said.

After the runway show, the designs will remain on display in the Markets throughout November.
