New South Wales Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead in a home in Goulburn. Officers were called to a property on Joshua Street at about 7am on Saturday following a report of a concern for welfare.
Police forced entry into the home and discovered the woman's body. She is believed to be aged in her 40s, but formal identification has not yet been made.
Detectives from the homicide squad have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. A crime scene has been established and a section of Joshua Street has been cordoned off.
Forensic officers were seen searching for fingerprints on the home's windows as part of the evidence-gathering process. Police are also interviewing nearby residents to gather information.
