A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for residents in Western Australia's Wheatbelt and Goldfields regions, with damaging winds expected over the next several hours.
The affected area stretches from Laverton in the north to Ravensthorpe in the south, including Kalgoorlie, Norseman, Leonora, Menzies and Salmon Gums.
The Bureau of Meteorology reported a wind gust of 144 km/h recorded at Laverton Airport at 4.23pm on Wednesday.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises residents to take precautions, including staying indoors and securing loose objects.
