Quokkas Raid Tent, Eat Food and Poo on Camping Gear

A group of campers on Rottnest Island got an unexpected surprise when they returned to their tent to find it overrun by quokkas. The marsupials had taken advantage of food left out, entering the tent and helping themselves to bread rolls.

The incident was captured on video by Milla Bebee and posted on TikTok with the title “Average Rottnest experience.” The footage shows multiple quokkas inside the tent, some on mattresses and sleeping bags, and evidence that they had rummaged through gear.

The campers were shocked to discover the extent of the invasion, with one exclaiming, “Guys, they’ve shat on the bed.” The video quickly went viral, attracting hundreds of comments.

Commenters pointed out the mistake of leaving food accessible, advising that all food should be stored in a hard esky or plastic tub with a lockable lid. Others found humor in the quokkas’ nonchalant behavior, continuing to eat despite the commotion.
