Perth Grandfather Missing for Six Days Sparks Massive Search

The wife of a Perth grandfather missing for six days has made an emotional plea for public assistance. Ian Collett, 65, who has dementia, vanished from his Canning Vale home on Saturday afternoon. A search involving 100 police officers and SES volunteers is underway, extending from Perth to Albany.

Mr. Collett was last seen walking along Albany Highway in Mount Cooke, south of Armadale, at midnight on Saturday. Police believe he may have hitchhiked to Mt Barker, north of Albany, where he worked in the 1980s and has relatives.

His wife Deborah expressed gratitude for help so far, urging anyone who sees him to contact police. Mr. Collett wears a medical bracelet with his name, 'dementia,' and a contact number. He also carries a house key on a green tag with his wife's number.
