Bushfire Near Perth Freeway Downgraded After Car Fire

A bushfire that broke out near a Perth freeway, sparked by a car fire, has been downgraded after earlier threatening lives and homes in east Baldivis.

The fire started near the intersection of Karnup Road and Kwinana Freeway, prompting an emergency warning for people in the vicinity of Karnup Road, Young Road and Kwinana Freeway southbound in eastern parts of Baldivis, within the City of Rockingham.

The warning has been downgraded to watch and act as the fire is now stationary, but authorities urge residents to stay alert as a possible threat to lives and homes remains.
