Adelaide Mother's Dog Poisoned in Suspected Revenge Attack

A single mother in Adelaide says she no longer feels safe in her home after her German shepherd was poisoned in what she believes was a revenge attack. Ashlyn Allen's five-year-old dog, Wolf, was found dead in her backyard last Sunday, surrounded by blue pellets and Ratsak.

Allen says the poisoning occurred days after Wolf was attacked by another dog that entered her property. She was able to break up the fight, and Wolf escaped with minor injuries. However, the same dog later lunged at one of her children, prompting her to report the incident to the local council. She now fears that report led to retaliation.

Since Wolf's death, Allen says her power has been switched off, her mail stolen, and her security cameras tampered with. She also found her sliding doors open, suggesting someone tried to enter her home. 'If you're willing to kill a dog... what else are you willing to do?' she said.

Because pets are legally classified as property in South Australia, Allen is not eligible for financial support through Victims of Crime legislation. She has broken her lease and launched a GoFundMe campaign to help her family relocate to a safer area.
