A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of an eight-week-old baby in Perth. The accused, Eric Ronald Riley from the suburb of Innaloo, appeared in court after the infant died on Saturday.
Western Australia police stated that Homicide Squad and Child Abuse Detectives had been investigating an incident earlier this month in Innaloo, where the baby sustained serious injuries. The child later succumbed to those injuries.
Riley has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again in June. Police have not released further details about the circumstances of the incident.
