Jennifer Hudson was moved to tears after her 16-year-old son, David Jr, surprised her with a cover of her song 'Find the Love' at a Christmas gathering. The emotional moment was captured on video and shared on Instagram last week.
In the clip, David Jr initially tells his famous mother he doesn't want to sing with her, before launching into a rendition of the track from her 2024 holiday album 'The Gift of Love'. Hudson, visibly overcome, says through tears, 'Y'all done outdid yourselves now.'
Hudson captioned the footage: 'I feel the love! Out of the mouths of babes. This hit me in the depths of my heart that only he can reach. I truly received a Gift of Love!!!' The singer has been nurturing her son's musical talents, and in November they shared clips of a duet of 'Best Part' by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.
Hudson, an EGOT winner, first rose to fame as a finalist on American Idol in 2004. She has since become a singer, actress, producer, and talk show host.
