Delta Goodrem's Eurovision performance includes a secret weapon borrowed from music royalty, helping her transform from outsider to grand final contender. The Australian singer has wowed audiences with her power ballad Eclipse, but she credits Beyonce for her spectacular set.
Goodrem's act features a tiny platform that emerges from the centre of her golden piano, elevating her high into the air. This lift was previously used by Beyonce at the opening of Atlantis The Royal in Dubai in January 2023. Goodrem had the lift flown in from the United States for the Eurovision performances in Vienna, Austria.
“I had to get the lift flown in from the States,” Goodrem told The Sun. “I have borrowed it. I’ve never flown out of a piano before and I’ve done a lot of shows.” She added that she said yes to everything on her shopping list of performance elements.
Goodrem's performance has garnered praise from fans, with one calling it “Australia’s winning moment” on social media. Australia is one of 10 countries that advanced to the grand final, alongside Bulgaria, Ukraine, Norway, Romania, Malta, Cyprus, Albania, Denmark and Czechia.
Australia's odds of winning have improved significantly. Goodrem now has a 19 per cent chance of winning, behind Finland's 42 per cent. This follows her rise from ninth or tenth in the odds to second place after her semi-final performance, surpassing Greece and Israel.
