Australian comedian and actor Joshua Hauville has criticised two well-known Perth landmarks while exploring the city. In a video recorded for social media, Hauville expressed disdain for London Court, a mock-London street in Perth's CBD, calling it 'the most disgusting, horrible thing' he had ever seen in the city.
Speaking in his comedic Frenchman persona, Hauville pointed to a clock at the entrance of London Court and questioned whether it depicted Joan of Arc, stating he could not support anything related to London due to historical events. He also mocked the souvenir shops, asking if they celebrated colonialism.
Hauville then turned his attention to the Blue Boat House on Mounts Bay Road in Crawley, describing it as a 'blue little sh...y box of wood' that looked like a coffin. He attempted to knock on the door, receiving no answer, and expressed confusion over why people line up to take photos with the structure, which he noted is located next to a highway.
Some locals commented on the video, sharing their own perspectives. One person mentioned having a large print of the Blue Boat House, believing it was in Norway before moving to Perth. Another noted the structure's popularity stems from its use as a Windows Spotlight background, though they still found the photo-taking trend puzzling.
Hauville is scheduled to perform his show 'Joshy in Paris' at Oasis Comedy Club on Friday night.
