Cleaner Charged with Indecent Assault at Adelaide School Had Passed Police Checks

A 30-year-old cleaner has been charged with indecently assaulting a student at a school in the Adelaide Hills. The alleged incident occurred on school grounds on April 27.

The man, who is in Australia on a working visa, had been employed by a company for two years to change sanitary bins. His employer confirmed that he had passed all required police checks.

The company is contracted by the government to clean public schools across the state. Letters have been sent to parents informing them that an external contractor had been arrested, emphasizing that the individual did not work directly with children.
