Tammy Hembrow's ex-boyfriend, Matt Zukowski, is facing backlash on social media after he shared a recent “ick” he got from a recent first date. Zukowski, who recently dropped a bombshell about his whirlwind romance with Hembrow, took to social media to ask his followers whether he had been “too harsh” on a woman that he went on a date with recently.
The influencer shared that while the evening had otherwise gone well, his date had unwittingly given him “the ick” after she insisted that her steak had arrived not how she had ordered it and that she wanted a new one made correctly.
“Tell me if I’m being too mean or hard about this but I went on a first date with this girl. Banter was fine, chats were elite, drinks are flowing,” he said.
“When it came time to order their mains, they both chose a Scotch fillet cooked medium rare. I thought it was hot that she was ordering a steak. I was like, ‘A first date … that’s pretty hot’.”
Zukowski continued: “We keep chatting, it’s all good. The steak comes out. She cuts into it and she’s like, ‘Oh no, it’s well done.’”
“Mine was well done too and I was like, ‘You know what? Who cares, it is what it is. Let’s just eat it.’”
“She’s like, ‘I’m not eating this. I want mine medium rare’,” he explained. “So she calls the waiter over, the waiter comes over and she sends her steak back. I don’t know … I found it a bit icky that she sent it back,” he said.
Zukowski is facing backlash from his fans after sharing his date story.
“Am I being too hard or am I being too picky? I don’t know, it just gave me the ick a little bit. I also do like my steak medium rare as much as the next guy,” he added.
Fans rushed into his comment section to share their thoughts, with the vast majority being on the side of the influencer’s date, rather than him.
“I would’ve done the same thing? I’m not eating a well done steak,” wrote one.
“As long as she wasn’t rude about it. You are being too harsh. I’m easy going but wouldn’t eat a well done steak either,” commented a second.
Others remarked that prices have risen so much recently that there should be a normal expectation to expect to get what you’ve paid for.
“Steaks not cheap these days, so why can’t she enjoy it how she likes it? I couldn’t eat a steak well done, that’s a no!” insisted one.
Another replied saying: “Only red flag here is that YOU didn’t call the waiter over and ask them to remake it for her.”
“There’s no way I’m eating a well done steak. It’s icky that you expect me to shut up & eat it,” commented another of the star’s fans.
