Bec Judd Returns to Broome for Winter Escape and Friend's Birthday
Bec Judd Back in Broome for Winter Escape and Birthday Fun

Bec Judd is back in her beloved Broome, taking up residence at Cable Beach to escape Melbourne's winter with some of her closest friends. The 43-year-old influencer and entrepreneur shared the news on Instagram over the weekend, announcing her arrival in her home state of Western Australia for her annual trip to the Kimberley beach resort town.

What Bec Judd Wore and Where She's Staying

The mother of four posted a selfie wearing a $135 jade green bikini from the brand Triangl, accessorized with a Loewe pouch bag worth $850, a Jacquemus brown bucket hat, and Celine sunglasses. “Working from my WA office for the next few weeks,” she captioned the photo, adding that she is staying at the Cable Beach Club.

Celebrating a Friend's Birthday

Judd is in Broome with friends Katie MacKinnon and Emma Lowe to celebrate MacKinnon's birthday. The festivities include cocktails by the pool and champagne on the beach under “moody skies.” Her daughter Billie, who is also the co-founder of Jaggad, is enjoying some downtime with her mother.

Why Broome Is Special to Bec Judd

Judd has long praised Broome, calling it her favourite winter getaway and claiming there is “no better sunset on Earth.” In an interview with STM in November last year, she said: “It won’t surprise anyone that my favourite holiday destination in WA is Broome. We stay at the Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, and it’s just insanely good. Broome is the best; I can’t fault it. We have been probably four out of the past five years, and I went there on my babymoon as well.”

Last July, she visited Broome with her family, where their days consisted of “Eat, tennis, golf, pool, eat, beach, gym, sunset, eat, repeat.” She shares her four children—Oscar, Billie, and twins Tom and Darcy—with her former AFL star husband Chris Judd.

Recent Controversy with Former Employer Nine

Judd’s trip to Broome comes after she unfollowed and criticized her former employer, Nine, for sacking Karl Stefanovic. The podcaster unfollowed Nine and the Today Show on Instagram after the network announced Stefanovic's immediate departure following controversy over his independent podcast. In an Instagram story, Judd wrote: “I believe in freedom of speech and balanced news reporting. No matter what side of politics you sit on, everybody deserves the right to their opinion, even if you don’t agree with it. Freedom of speech nurtures critical thinking, prevents groupthink and allows people to build a tolerance for perspectives that are outside their own. Most importantly, it is integral to a strong democracy.” Judd previously worked for Nine as a weather presenter and host on Postcards.
