WA Winner Claims $50 Million Powerball Prize

A West Australian has won the $50 million Powerball jackpot from draw 1539, held on Thursday. The winning numbers were 22, 10, 6, 15, 2, 8 and 7, with Powerball 13. The ticket was purchased online.

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender confirmed the winner was contacted Friday morning. “The winner is very much in shock, processing this life-changing news,” Wender said. The winner plans to claim the prize at Lotterywest headquarters in the coming weeks.

This is WA’s fourth division one Powerball win in 2025, the first time in a decade the state has recorded four such wins in a year. The $50 million prize is the largest Powerball win in WA since workmates shared $53 million in October 2022.

Meanwhile, the winner of a $100 million Powerball jackpot from June 12 remains unclaimed. The ticket was bought at Bondi Junction Newsagency in Sydney. The Lott’s Matt Hart noted that winners sometimes come forward months or years later, often finding the ticket hidden in plain sight.
