Just under three hours from Melbourne and eight hours from Sydney, Wildergreen offers a multi-seasonal regional sanctuary on the New South Wales-Victoria border. This first-of-its-kind lifestyle precinct invites visitors to indulge in an eat, sip, and play experience featuring woodfired pizza, cocktails, and live music.
At the heart of Wildergreen is Embr, a wood-fire Italian restaurant blending fine dining with family-style meals. Head Chef Daniel Girau, originally from Sardinia, crafts seasonal Italian favorites like Neapolitan pizzas and hand-stretched pasta. “Fire is at the heart of everything we do,” Girau says, highlighting the smoky depth of the wood-fired oven.
Menu standouts include the classic Margherita pizza with burrata and the Gigli Alla Norcina, a dairy-free pasta dish with mushrooms and black pepper. For larger groups, a one-kilogram Fiorentina steak or plant-based cauliflower steak is available. Desserts feature a Limoncello Tiramisu and Lemon Myrtle Panna Cotta.
After dinner, guests can unwind at The Playgrounds bar with Italian and Australian wines or seasonal cocktails, accompanied by live music. Moama Bowling Club CEO Paul Barnes notes, “With Embr leading the way, Wildergreen becomes more than a precinct — it’s a destination for dining, connection, and everyday good times.”
Families can take advantage of Treehouse, an eco-learning sensory zone for children aged five and over, offering supervised play free for Embr diners. Younger children are welcome with a parent or guardian. Barnes adds, “With Wildergreen, we wanted to create more than just a venue — we wanted to create a sanctuary.”
