The W XYZ Bar at Aloft by Marriott Perth has been reimagined as a Japanese ski lodge for winter 2026, offering a limited-time menu of matcha cocktails, viral noodle dishes, and street-food desserts without the need for a passport.
Winter Escape in the City
Open until July 31, the activation draws inspiration from the mountain villages and après-ski culture of Japan. Influencers and food content creators attended the official launch, sampling seasonal beverages such as the yuzu hi-ball and Kyoto matcha sour.
Signature Menu Highlights
The special menu features a bento box with beef tataki, chicken gyoza, edamame, tempura prawns, and karaage chicken with seasoned rice. For dessert, guests can enjoy Taiyaki fish-shaped ice cream served with chocolate dipping sauce, marshmallows, and strawberries.
On Saturdays, Springs Kitchen offers a viral udon carbonara, swapping traditional pasta for chewy udon noodles with bacon in a rich, creamy sauce.
Competition and General Manager's Vision
Guests can enter a competition to win a staycation for two at Aloft, including $1,000. Aloft's general manager, Andrew Wright, said the team aimed to bring the excitement of Japan’s food culture to Perth this winter.
The activation runs until July 31, with photos from the launch showcasing attendees like Gus Goodwin and Sarah Palinger, Summer Dixon and Laila Monkman, and others.
