At 85, West Australian media mogul Kerry Stokes has announced he will step down as chairman of Seven West Media following the company's proposed merger with Southern Cross Media.
The merger would combine the Seven Network with radio networks Triple M and Hit. However, the deal still requires approval from shareholders and the media regulator.
Stokes' departure marks the end of an era for the media company he has led for decades.
