A unique property in Figtree, featuring tennis and futsal courts along with a residence, is on the market and offers potential income for the next owners. The five-acre site at 5-7 O'Briens Road has been home to Aces Figtree and includes a four-bedroom house with multiple living zones, a well-appointed kitchen, and character finishes, plus a self-contained secondary dwelling.
Outdoors, there are entertaining areas including a deck and an in-ground pool, set among established grounds. The property also has four tennis courts and two futsal courts, which can be used for lifestyle or income generation. Current co-owner Errol Carney said a single tennis court could be rented for $20 per hour, and a futsal court for $10 per person.
The Carney family purchased the site in 1989 for $420,000 and renovated the home, which was originally built in the 1920s when the site was a dairy farm. The property later housed the Adventure Village fun park until the 1970s and then Townsends Tennis Centre. The family has raised four children and eight grandchildren there.
Selling agent Darren Kay from Belle Property Illawarra said there is no price guide yet, but interest has come from tennis, pickleball, and football clubs, as well as people looking to build a place of worship. He also noted opportunities for adding value, subject to council approval. The property is for sale via Expressions of Interest, closing on May 20.
