Pilot Energy has appointed energy veteran Brian Siddall as its new chief executive officer to lead the company's carbon management and clean energy projects in Western Australia. Siddall brings more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, including roles as general manager for WA at Beach Energy and senior positions at Santos and Origin Energy.
The company said Siddall's expertise in strategy, project development, execution, and asset management will be crucial as it advances its asset portfolio. Outgoing managing director Brad Lingo will support Siddall during the transition period to ensure continuity.
The leadership change aligns with Pilot's evolution into a developer of carbon management and renewable energy production, including plans to convert the Cliff Head oil field into a carbon capture and storage facility as part of its Mid West Clean Energy project near Dongara.
Pilot is also assessing the potential to expand a 1-megawatt data centre footprint at its project into a 30–35MW data centre hub across its Arrowsmith or Three Springs solar project. The company says the data centre initiative fits well with its flexible asset base and the region's top-tier wind and solar resources.
Pilot holds a 21.25% interest in the Cliff Head oil field and infrastructure, which is set to increase to full control upon completion of the acquisition of Triangle Energy's stake. The company also holds 100% interests in multiple Offshore Perth Basin exploration tenements.
