Sydney Airport Worker Charged Over $50,000 Luxury Goods Theft

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with stealing more than $50,000 worth of luxury items from a shop at Sydney International Airport. The woman, who was employed by the store, allegedly took 15 designer goods.

Federal police executed a search warrant at the woman's home in Kingsgrove two weeks ago, where they recovered four bracelets, three pens, two lighters, earrings, a wallet, a candle, a lighter, and a men's pendant. The investigation began after a complaint by the store operator 48 hours earlier.

Police also seized a Sydney Airport visitor pass, an Australian passport, and two electronic devices. AFP Detective Superintendent Morgan Blunden stated, 'This woman allegedly abused her position within the airport terminal for personal gain.'
