Perth Glory secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Brisbane Roar at Perth Oval on Sunday, with striker Andy Keogh scoring a stoppage-time header to seal the victory. The result leaves Brisbane rooted to the bottom of the A-League table with no points, while Perth sits at the top after their second consecutive win.
The Roar appeared on track for their first win of the season after Mensur Kurtishi scored his maiden A-League goal in the 39th minute, followed by a wonderstrike from Henrique in the 55th minute to give Brisbane a 2-1 lead. However, Keogh had other plans, first equalizing from the penalty spot in the 49th minute after being brought down by Jade North.
Keogh made it 2-2 in the 74th minute when his powerful strike deflected off Roar defender James Donachie and into the net. It was Donachie's second own goal in as many weeks. The drama continued in stoppage time when Keogh headed home a corner to send the crowd of 8,789 into delirium and secure all three points for Perth.
The win leaves Perth on top of the table after their 2-1 triumph over Wellington in round one, while Brisbane and Western Sydney remain pointless at the bottom. Keogh now has three goals to his name and is an early contender for the golden boot.
