Kite Surfer Survives Night on Sandbank After Kite Deflates Off Mandurah

A 37-year-old kite surfer has been found safe after spending a night stranded on a sandbank off Mandurah, Western Australia. The man was reported missing on Sunday evening after he was last seen around 7:00pm.

A search involving land, air, and sea assets was launched but failed to locate him that night. The search resumed at first light on Monday.

According to a police spokeswoman, the man's kite deflated, leaving him unable to return to shore. He drifted in the water before finding refuge on a sandbank.
