A jet ski crash at Eastern Beach in Geelong sparked a physical altercation on Sunday afternoon, according to Victoria Police.
The incident occurred around 2.15pm when a jet ski carrying a man and a woman skidded onto the sand near the swimming area. Both occupants sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.
Police said the male rider then became involved in a fight with bystanders, though no injuries were reported from the altercation.
Investigators are examining whether speed was a factor in the crash. Victoria Police urged jet ski riders to follow speed restrictions near swimming areas as warmer weather brings more people to beaches.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has video footage to contact police.
