Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate suffered a brutal defeat in his return to boxing at the Misfits Mania event in Dubai on Sunday. The 39-year-old former kickboxer was battered by reality TV star Chase DeMoor, leaving him with a deep cut over his right eye and heavy bruising.
DeMoor, 29, a former Netflix 'Too Hot To Handle' star, retained his Misfits heavyweight title with a majority decision win. Two judges scored the fight 58-56 in his favor, while the third scored it a draw. DeMoor's size and reach advantage proved decisive as he controlled the bout, landing heavier shots and wrestling Tate from the third round onward.
Tate, who had not fought since a kickboxing match in Romania in December 2020, entered the ring with a 76-9-1 kickboxing record. His professional boxing debut ended in a loss, leaving him with an 0-1 record. After the fight, Tate said he was not disappointed, claiming he took on a tough opponent who was ten years older and 20 kilograms heavier.
The event marked Tate's first fight since facing legal troubles. He and his brother Tristan were charged in the UK with rape, assault, and trafficking earlier this year, with four women pursuing legal action. Misfits' decision to feature Tate as the headline act drew criticism from fans and observers.
