Man Charged After 83 Cannabis Plants Found in NSW House Raid

A tip-off from a member of the public led police to a hydroponic drug house on the NSW Central Coast, where they seized 83 cannabis plants and harvested leaf. The raid occurred yesterday afternoon at a house on Bellevue Street in North Avoca.

Officers discovered a hydroponic set-up underneath the house containing the mature plants. An additional 899 grams of cannabis leaf was found in the kitchen and main bedroom. The total haul has an estimated street value of more than $400,000.

Detective Inspector John Zdrilic emphasized the importance of public information, stating that every piece of information is valuable. He urged the public to report anything suspicious, as it could lead to significant discoveries.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man at the scene. He has been charged with cultivating a prohibited plant, as well as possessing and supplying a prohibited drug.
