Two 13-Year-Olds Arrested After 150kph Canberra Police Chase

Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested following a late-night police chase through Canberra, during which they allegedly drove a stolen car at speeds of up to 150 kilometres per hour. The incident began shortly after 2:00am when police spotted a silver Ford driving erratically on Alinga Street in Civic.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle as it turned into the Civic Bus Interchange, but the driver allegedly sped off through a red light to evade officers. About 10 minutes later, the car was detected travelling at 150kph in a 90kph zone on Parkes Way, where the driver again ignored police directions to stop.

Police eventually forced the car to stop further along Parkes Way, and a swarm of officers arrested the two children. The vehicle had been taken from Rivett earlier in the evening, and its owner was unaware it had been stolen.
