A 61-year-old man has been charged with murder after an 88-year-old woman was found dead at a home in Fern Bay, in the NSW Hunter Region. Police discovered the woman's body inside a residence on Taylor Road on Thursday.
The man, who is known to the victim, attended a police station following the incident and was subsequently arrested by detectives. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Friday.
