A baby has been found dead at a home in Perth’s southern suburbs, with Western Australian Police treating the incident as suspicious. Officers and paramedics were called to a property on Winpara Way in Baldivis around 10:15am on Thursday.
Upon arrival, emergency services located an eight-month-old infant deceased, according to a statement from WA Police. Detectives are at the scene, which has been declared a crime site, and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
A woman in her 20s, believed to be the baby’s mother, is assisting police with their inquiries, as reported by 7NEWS. The area remains locked down as forensic teams conduct their examination.
Local resident Graham Stewart expressed his distress, saying, “I just feel quite heartbroken.” Police have assured the community that there is no ongoing risk to the public.
