An Adelaide High School teacher has been suspended after being charged with a child sex offence. Police confirmed the teacher was arrested on Saturday and charged with aggravated indecent assault. He was granted police bail and is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in August.
In a letter to parents on Thursday, principal Cez Green stated that the teacher was arrested and charged on June 20. The teacher's bail conditions prohibit him from engaging in any child-related work. He has been directed away from the workplace and instructed not to attend the school pending the outcome of the police investigation and prosecution.
Ms Green noted that the teacher cannot be named until the court appearance but assured parents they would be updated on the progress of the prosecution. She urged parents to contact her directly if they have any concerns about the safety and welfare of their child.
Police said investigations are continuing and have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
